About the Role We are seeking a Risk Manager to join our team. This fully remote role is open to candidates based in a near-CET time zone. You will play a key role in risk management, underwriting, scoring, risk reporting, fraud prevention, and risk-adjusted pricing for our growing fintech business. Key Responsibilities Lead credit risk analysis, including underwriting, scoring, and risk-adjusted pricing strategies. Develop, monitor, and update scorecard models using statistical tools; assess performance and stability of variables, define new segments, and set credit decision strategies. Integrate and optimize external risk management and fraud prevention tools. Design, improve, and automate risk reporting; develop new reports from scratch as needed. Monitor key risk KPIs at the segment and portfolio level and deliver actionable management insights. Conduct ad-hoc analyses and prepare reports for top management. Test and validate risk measures in internal systems; ensure compliance with internal and external requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, IT, Data) to assess the impact of product and pricing changes on risk. Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory requirements in consumer credit risk. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, IT, finance, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in risk management and data analysis, ideally in the financial sector (banking or financial services). Proven experience managing consumer credit portfolios at the portfolio level. Strong skills in building predictive models and handling large datasets. Advanced proficiency in SQL/MySQL and Python (required); experience with R, VBA, SAS, and Tableau is a plus. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently, reliably, and with meticulous attention to detail in a remote environment. Fluent in English; German language skills are an advantage.
