We have an immediate opening for a seasoned Public Relations Associate to take ownership of the public relations functions, both internally and externally. This position encompasses a wide range of activities with involvement in media relations, persuasive writing, and other marketing duties within the department. We seek someone with demonstrated ability to efficiently and accurately manage multiple tasks and priorities to conclusion under tight deadlines. Job Duties Include: Respond to requests for information release or press inquiries Build and maintain targeted media and social media distribution lists, groups, and targets Write press releases and other media communications to promote the company’s brand and campaigns Plan and direct the development of programs to maintain favorable public and customer sentiment of the company’s agenda Study the company’s objectives, promotional policies, and needs to build public relations strategies that influence public and customer opinion, and promote services, strategies, and desired behavior Maintain and advance relationships with writers, bloggers, and industry journalists Monitor media and social media mentions of the company and its brand representatives Identify opportunities for positioning company content in outside media Develop and distribute press releases and pitch content to media Build and maintain roster of industry award opportunities and present qualified opportunities to Director Develop and maintain QA on content for award submissions and coordinate submission materials’ development and completion across colleagues Provide public relations support for general company needs including talent marketing, events/sponsorship, and content marketing Update and maintain relevant digital content Confer with team members and managers to identify trends relevant to the company’s PR needs Prepare and edit organizational publications for internal and external audiences Provide coaching on public- and customer-facing communications for company representatives Requirements Include: Bachelors required/Masters preferred in journalism, PR, integrated communications, or a related field. Experience designing and executing media and press strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to pitch to media and industry groups. Knowledge of innovative technology and industry media and marketing. Ability to balance day-to-day demands and tasks with big-picture strategic thinking. Ability to think creatively and execute tactically. Deadline-oriented, inquisitive, with great follow-up and reporting skills. Creativity in securing coverage and buzz within the industry and other relevant media sectors. Project management skills. Understanding of key social media channels and solid experience working with bloggers, podcasters, and digital communicators. Responds well to constructive feedback and thrives under pressure and tight deadlines. Quick and enthusiastic learner and self-starter with a teamwork mindset.
