About the Role The Director of Sales (REMOTE) will be responsible for managing, nurturing, and growing relationships with our largest national retail and distributor customers. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, exceptional customer relationship management, and hands-on sales execution. The successful candidate will drive revenue growth, ensure customer satisfaction, and expand our market share in the organic and natural food space. This position reports directly to the VP of Sales. Key Responsibilities Strategic Account Management: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow business with key national accounts (supermarkets, grocery chains, distributors, foodservice, etc.). Serve as the main point of contact for top-tier accounts, building long-term, trust-based relationships with decision-makers. Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within key accounts, aligning with our company’s growth objectives. Sales and Revenue Growth: Drive sales performance by negotiating pricing, promotions, and terms for key accounts. Ensure sales targets and KPIs are met or exceeded, consistently increasing revenue from assigned accounts. Monitor account performance and provide regular forecasting, reporting, and insights to senior management. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including marketing, operations, and product development to align account needs with product offerings and marketing strategies. Collaborate with the operations team to ensure timely product availability, delivery schedules, and high levels of customer satisfaction. Market Intelligence and Competitor Analysis: Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities to identify growth potential. Provide feedback to the product and marketing teams based on customer insights, competitor strategies, and consumer preferences. Contract and Negotiation Management: Negotiate long-term contracts, volume discounts, and promotional support with key accounts, ensuring favorable terms that support the company’s profitability and market position. Develop pricing strategies based on market conditions, cost structures, and customer-specific demands. Customer Support & Relationship Building: Act as the primary advocate for key accounts, ensuring exceptional customer service, timely resolution of issues, and proactive relationship management. Engage in regular business reviews with customers, identifying opportunities for further growth and improvement. Reporting and Analysis: Provide accurate and timely sales reports, market insights, and customer feedback to management. Analyze key account performance and track progress toward established sales targets and growth goals. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in sales, with a proven track record of managing large national accounts in the food industry (preferably in organic, natural, or protein categories). Experience with retail and distributor channels is required. Strong knowledge of the organic food market, consumer trends, and the competitive landscape.
