YouTube Video Editor — EZ Expeditions

EZ Expeditions is looking for a talented, reliable, and professional YouTube video editor to join our team.

We create high-energy adventure, travel, haunted attraction, paranormal, investigation, and entertainment content designed to keep viewers engaged from the opening seconds through the final frame.

Before applying, you MUST research our YouTube channel: EZ Expeditions on YouTube.

We want you to understand our existing editing style, pacing, storytelling, transitions, graphics, sound design, music, and overall presentation before you apply.

PAY PER VIDEO

* Videos 45 minutes or under: $285 per completed video
* Videos over 45 minutes: $315 per completed video

We will provide the target length/range for each individual project, and you will be expected to edit the video to that range.

SCHEDULE AND DEADLINES — ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENT

On-time delivery is an absolute must.

Our YouTube channel operates on a scheduled production and publishing calendar. When an editor accepts a project, the agreed-upon deadline is a firm deadline, not a target or suggestion.

You must be able to:

* Meet every agreed-upon delivery deadline
* Deliver projects on the scheduled date and within the agreed timeframe
* Communicate promptly if an unexpected issue arises
* Manage your workload so our projects are not delayed by other clients
* Consistently deliver projects on schedule

Repeated missed deadlines, unexplained delays, or failure to communicate about a potential delay will not be acceptable.

We would rather have an editor honestly tell us they do not have the availability to take a project than accept it and miss the deadline.

If you cannot reliably meet scheduled delivery dates, please do not apply.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM OUR EDITOR

This is not simply a job where you cut out mistakes and put clips together.

We are looking for an editor who understands YouTube storytelling, pacing, and audience retention.

Our editing can include:

* Professional cutting and pacing
* Removing unnecessary footage, dead space, and repetition
* Creating a strong opening hook
* Maintaining viewer engagement throughout the episode
* Story-driven editing
* Music selection and placement
* Sound effects and sound design
* Audio cleanup and balancing
* Strategic use of transitions
* Zooms, punch-ins, and visual emphasis when appropriate
* On-screen text and graphics
* B-roll placement
* Supporting footage and visual storytelling
* Professional color correction and grading
* Camera-to-camera color matching
* Creating tension, excitement, suspense, humor, or emotion when appropriate
* Maintaining continuity
* Producing a polished, professional final product

The editing style must serve the story. We are not looking for someone who simply adds excessive transitions, effects, or graphics to every cut.

LOG FOOTAGE, COLOR CORRECTION AND COLOR MATCHING

We film in Log format. Professional color correction and color matching are an absolute must.

The editor we hire must have real experience working with Log footage and must understand professional color workflows.

You will be expected to properly:

* Convert and/or transform Log footage for final delivery
* Correct exposure and white balance
* Maintain accurate and natural skin tones
* Match footage from different cameras
* Match shots filmed under different lighting conditions
* Match multiple cameras within the same scene
* Maintain consistent color throughout an entire episode
* Correct contrast, saturation, and overall image balance
* Properly use LUTs when appropriate
* Understand when a LUT should and should not be used
* Create a consistent final look across all footage

Our footage may come from multiple cameras and recording formats, so the finished episode needs to look like one cohesive production, not a collection of clips that were simply placed on a timeline.

Color matching is not optional.

Applicants should be able to provide examples of previous work demonstrating their color correction, grading, and/or multi-camera color-matching abilities.

YOU MUST UNDERSTAND YOUTUBE

The editor we hire needs to understand that viewer retention matters.

Every edit should have a purpose.

You should be able to recognize when a scene is moving too slowly, when something needs to be shortened, when a reaction needs room to breathe, when a cut should happen sooner, and when allowing a moment to play out creates a better story.

We want someone who can take hours of raw footage and turn it into a compelling, professional YouTube episode.

BEFORE YOU APPLY — RESEARCH EZ EXPEDITIONS

Please watch and research EZ Expeditions on YouTube before submitting an application.

We want applicants who can tell us:

1. What you like about our current editing style
2. What you think could be improved
3. What type of editing you would bring to the channel
4. Why you believe you are a good fit for EZ Expeditions

Do not submit a generic application without watching our content.

We are much more interested in an editor who understands our channel, our content, and our audience than someone who simply sends us a generic portfolio.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal editor is:

* Creative
* Dependable
* Extremely deadline-conscious
* Detail-oriented
* Fast without sacrificing quality
* Experienced with YouTube long-form content
* Strong with storytelling and pacing
* Experienced with Log footage and professional color workflows
* Skilled in color correction and camera-to-camera color matching
* Able to follow direction
* Able to take creative direction and apply it
* Someone who takes pride in their work
* Someone interested in becoming part of a growing channel rather than completing random one-off freelance jobs

Reliability is extremely important.

When we assign a project, we need the editor to communicate, meet the deadline, and deliver consistent quality.

FOOTAGE AND WORKFLOW

We will provide the necessary footage and project information for each assignment.

Each project will include the desired final video length/range, delivery deadline, and specific editing expectations.

You are responsible for taking the provided material and turning it into a finished, polished YouTube episode ready for review.

THIS IS NOT A “CUT AND EXPORT” JOB

Please do not apply if your approach is simply:

Cut → Export → Deliver.

We are looking for an editor who thinks like a storyteller.

If you can watch raw footage and immediately start thinking:

“How do I make the viewer want to see what happens next?”

—we want to hear from you.

TO APPLY

Please provide:

* Your name
* Location/time zone
* Editing software you use
* Years of video-editing experience
* YouTube editing experience
* Portfolio/reel
* Examples of long-form YouTube videos you have edited
* Examples demonstrating your color correction, color grading, and Log footage experience
* Your availability
* Typical turnaround time
* Confirmation that you can consistently meet scheduled deadlines
* A brief explanation of what you noticed about the EZ Expeditions channel after researching it

Applications without a portfolio, relevant experience, or evidence that you researched EZ Expeditions will not be considered.
