I’m ready to turn my current WordPress blog https://plfocus.com/home/ into a full-featured rankings and statistics destination similar in spirit to https://statrankings.com/. The core goal is to let visitors consume well-structured data: clean tables, sortable rankings, and eye-catching visuals that clearly publish rankings and statistics in my niche.
Here’s what I need from you:
• Strategic guidance on the best way to structure the WordPress install for data-heavy content—theme selection or custom child theme, recommended plugins (SportsPress, TablePress, DataTables, Advanced Custom Fields, or something bespoke), and a sensible taxonomy for categories, seasons, and regions.
• Hands-on build-out: page templates, ranking table layouts, and any custom post types or fields required so I can add or edit data without touching code. If custom plugins are the smartest route, I’ll rely on you for lightweight, well-documented code.
• Data management workflow. I’ll be updating stats regularly, so a streamlined upload/import interface is essential. Whether that means CSV uploads, an Airtable/Google Sheets bridge, or direct entry in the WP admin, I’m open to your recommendation.
• Performance, SEO, and UX polish: fast page loads, clear navigation, schema markup for rankings, responsive design, and easy social-sharing hooks.
• A short hand-off guide or Loom walkthrough that shows me how to keep everything updated once you’re done.
I haven’t locked down every feature—side-by-side comparisons, advanced filters, or visitor submissions could be future phases—so part of the engagement is helping me prioritise what will bring the most value first and planning an upgrade path.
If you’ve built data-centric or sports-ranking WordPress sites before, I’d love to see examples when we chat.
