We are looking for an experienced Unity Technical Artist / Unity Developer to create an anatomical visualization for an immersive VR dinosaur experience.

We already have an animated dinosaur model and an existing Unity scene. The goal is to add the internal anatomy and create a polished animation sequence that reveals and explains the dinosaur's internal systems.

Project Scope

You will work with the existing dinosaur and integrate:

Skeleton / neck bones
Lungs and air sacs
Heart
Blood vessels
Other relevant internal anatomy

The anatomy should be properly aligned with the existing dinosaur and its standing Idle animation.

Animation Sequence

The final result consists of four consecutive stages using the same dinosaur, model, and animation setup.

Stage 0 — Full Anatomy Reveal (~10 seconds)
The dinosaur starts with intact, opaque skin. A clean-edged mask moves across the body, removing the visible skin and revealing the complete skeleton and internal organs.

There should be no transparency fade. By the end of this stage, the complete internal anatomy should be visible.

Stage 1 — Neck Bones (~10 seconds)
The complete anatomy remains visible.

The hollow spaces inside the neck vertebrae should be highlighted, with subtle movement suggesting air passing through them. The rest of the anatomy remains visible but visually secondary.

Stage 2 — Breathing (~11 seconds)
The focus moves to the lungs and air sacs.

They should gently expand and contract, with a restrained visual indication of airflow. The skeleton and other organs remain visible.

Stage 3 — Heart & Blood Flow (~15 seconds)
The breathing highlight transitions away.

The heart beats, while visible pulses travel from the chest up the long neck toward the head. The dinosaur simultaneously performs its existing head-raising movement.

Technical Requirements
Unity
Android VR
Optimize geometry and materials for VR performance
Keep polygon count as low as reasonably possible
LODs are not required because the animation is viewed from a specific distance
Avoid transparent materials where possible
Use alpha clipping for masking/reveal effects where appropriate
Maintain compatibility with the existing dinosaur animation
The final Unity scene should be clean and ready for handover to our lead Unity developer

We currently use Timeflow for scene animation, although using Unity Timeline is also acceptable. We can integrate the Unity Timeline animation into our Timeflow workflow, or provide the Timeflow package if required.

Assets

We will provide:

Existing dinosaur model
Existing dinosaur animation
Unity scene
Visual references
Additional materials/reference images

If a suitable skeleton or anatomy asset is not available, we can purchase one if necessary.

Ideal Freelancer

We are looking for someone with experience in:

Unity technical art
VR development
Character rigging and animation
3D anatomy / anatomical visualization
Shader and masking techniques
Unity Timeline or Timeflow
VR performance optimization

Experience creating educational, scientific, medical, training, or anatomical visualizations would be a strong advantage.

Deliverable

A working Unity implementation of the complete dinosaur anatomy sequence, integrated with the existing dinosaur and animation, optimized for Android VR and ready for handover to our lead Unity developer.

Please include examples of relevant Unity, VR, technical-art, character animation, simulation, or visualization work in your proposal.

We will provide the existing assets and references to the selected freelancer so the exact implementation and timeline can be confirmed.
