I’m renovating a residential house and need a qualified professional to design and document the structural support for a new staircase opening. There is no existing chimney to deal with, so the entire effort can concentrate on keeping the surrounding floor and load-bearing walls secure once the opening is cut.

Here’s what I’m looking for:
• Structural calculations that prove the modified floor will meet local code once the opening is in place.
• A concise set of drawings showing beam, joist, and post sizes, connection details, and any required plates or brackets. PDF is fine for review; a DWG or similar editable file will be needed for the contractor.
• A brief specification sheet listing material grades (steel or engineered timber), bolt sizes, and any temporary shoring required during installation.

When you reply, please confirm:
• Your professional qualification or chartered status.
• The software you’ll use (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Robot, SAP2000).
• How quickly you can deliver a first draft once you have the site dimensions.

My builder is ready to begin as soon as the structural package is approved, so clear, build-ready documentation is essential.
