I want to move my current Shopify store beyond its basic search box and build a fast, intuitive product-discovery experience that keeps shoppers browsing instead of bouncing. The core goal is to upgrade the store’s functionality—specifically product search and filtering—so customers can instantly narrow results by category, price, variants and any other attributes we agree are valuable.
Here’s how I see the work flowing:
• Review the existing theme and code to spot the bottlenecks that make search feel clunky.
• Propose the best approach—whether that’s a custom Liquid/JavaScript solution, an app-based integration, or a hybrid—and explain why it fits our catalog size and traffic.
• Implement the new search with clean, reusable code, keeping page speed and mobile responsiveness top of mind.
• Add flexible filter groups that I can edit in the Shopify admin without touching code.
• Test everything across desktop and mobile, confirm that collections, tags and metafields are indexed correctly, and make sure analytics still track conversions accurately.
Acceptance criteria: shoppers can filter and sort results with no noticeable lag, autocomplete suggestions appear in under one second, and the solution works seamlessly with future theme updates.
If you have proven experience tweaking Liquid templates, building Shopify apps or integrating services like Algolia, feel free to share a quick example and the turnaround you’d need. Once we agree on the approach, we can map milestones and get started right away.
