Precise PDF Text Re-typing

I have a PDF manual that runs between 11 and 50 pages and I need every bit of text re-typed into an editable document while mirroring the original layout and style exactly as it appears in the PDF. Headings, line breaks, bold or italic emphasis—everything must look the same once transferred, so a careful eye for formatting consistency is essential.

The source file is purely text (no tables or numbers to worry about). Once finished, I should be able to place the new document beside the PDF and see no visual difference other than the fact that the text is now selectable and editable.
