Our 3rd party fabrication line in Uttar Pradesh is facing a persistent powder-coated paint failure on steel parts. I need a seasoned consultant who can be on-site quickly, examine the entire operation from raw material receipt through final cure and steer us to a permanent fix.
What you will tackle
• Run a full audit and visual inspection of the existing booths, ovens, guns and handling equipment.
• You must have the technical know how, to conduct a investigation into surface preparation, application parameters, curing profile and in-service performance so we know exactly why the coating is delaminating and .
• Draft and implement a practical quality plan that includes written SOPs, inspection checkpoints and recording procedures our in-house team can follow long after you leave.
Acceptance criteria
1. A root-cause report that traces the defect to specific preparation, application or curing variables, supported by photos, measurements and test data.
2. A step-by-step corrective-action plan with timelines, responsible persons and measurable targets (adhesion, film thickness, gloss, impact).
3. A set of formatted log sheets, checklists and control charts we can adopt immediately for ongoing QA/QC.
4. A close-out visit or remote review demonstrating the first production batch that meets the new standards.
You should bring deep hands-on knowledge of powder coating chemistry, ISO 9001 style documentation and all common inspection tools (DFT gauge, gloss meter, adhesion tester, salt-spray interpretation). Ability to travel within UP and written and verbal communication of findings clearly in English is essential; Hindi is a plus.
If you have solved similar coating problems before, outline your typical approach and provide examples.
Please note I have not used this platform before and therefore detail costing etc. If the budget does not meet expectation simply provide a breakdown.
