I have several years of container throughput records from our terminals and need a data professional to turn that raw information into clear, actionable insights for management. You will receive CSV exports from the terminal operating system along with any supplementary spreadsheets I can provide. Your role is to clean, structure and analyse the figures, surface the key trends, spot anomalies or performance gaps, and explain what the numbers mean for day-to-day operations and longer-term planning.
If you see opportunities to layer in statistical forecasting or a lightweight machine-learning model to strengthen the story, feel free to propose it—just keep the final output easy for non-technical stakeholders to digest. Visualisations should be intuitive, with every figure traceable to the original source files so we can rerun the work when fresh data arrives.
Deliverables
• A cleaned, well-documented dataset ready for future refreshes
• Reproducible analysis code or workbook (Python, R, Excel Power Query, Tableau, Power BI—your choice, but state it up front)
• Dashboards or slide-ready charts that highlight monthly and quarterly throughput, vessel productivity, gate activity and yard occupancy
• A brief write-up summarising insights, recommendations and any limitations
Acceptance criteria
1. All numbers reconcile with the source data.
2. Charts render without paid add-ons that the team does not already own.
3. Explanations are in plain language that operations managers can act on immediately.
Include a short outline of your approach, preferred tools and estimated turnaround time in your proposal.
