I want to move beyond textbook knowledge and become fully productive with PLAXIS on real geotechnical problems. The priority is practical, software-driven learning, so each session should revolve around the tool itself while weaving in just enough theory to show why every choice in the model matters.
We will stay inside PLAXIS for most of the course, covering:
• Building and validating 2D/3D models from borehole data and site reports
• Running staged construction simulations, interpreting the results, and troubleshooting convergence
• Unlocking advanced options—user-defined soil models, scripting, parameter sensitivity studies, and output customization
- Spanish Language only
Along the way, please anchor the lessons to one complete project (for example, a deep excavation, embankment, or foundation system) so I can see the entire workflow from raw data to design decisions and final report. I am open to quick detours into GeoStudio or STAAD.Pro comparisons if that helps explain a concept, but PLAXIS remains the core platform.
Deliverables
- Live, interactive training sessions (screen-share or classroom style) totaling 12–15 hours
- Model files, datasets, and step-by-step notes for every exercise
- Brief theoretical handouts that connect soil mechanics principles to the software actions
- Post-session assignments with your written feedback
- A wrap-up Q&A and a completion certificate or summary letter I can share with my employer
Acceptance criteria: the final exercise must reproduce a published case history or site investigation of comparable complexity, with results that fall within the documented range for displacements, factors of safety, and pore pressures.
