Project Description
We are experiencing premature wear on a gear pair (one pinion and one larger mating gear) currently working together. We are looking for an expert in mechanical design, tribology, and materials to redesign these gears for maximum durability and a significantly longer lifespan.
Scope of Work:
Material Selection: Gears will be made in polymer.
Design Optimization: Redesign the gear geometry (tooth profile, module, face width, clearances, etc.) to improve load distribution and extend service life.
Deliverables:
Provide complete manufacturing-ready CAD files, technical drawings, and a brief report outlining the design choices and expected performance improvements.
Requirements for Applicants:
Proven experience in mechanical design, specifically gear trains and polymer-on-polymer/composite gear interactions.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360, etc.) and gear design/simulation tools.
