Senior Odoo Developer / Odoo Team — Commercial ERP Development

We are looking for an experienced Odoo Developer or small Odoo development team to help us develop a commercial ERP platform , based on Odoo Community.

Project Overview

We are building ERP, a commercial ERP solution.

The project will extend Odoo Community with Saudi-specific accounting, ZATCA e-invoicing integration, and a highly reliable offline-first POS system.

We are looking for developers who have strong practical experience with:

- Python
- Odoo ORM

- Offline/local data storage
- Synchronization systems

Initial Development Scope

1. Accounting

- Saudi Chart of Accounts
- Journal Entries
- General Ledger
- Trial Balance
- AR / AP
- Expenses
- VAT
- Financial Reports
- Multi-company
- Multi-branch

2. ZATCA Integration

Develop and/or customize the integration with Saudi ZATCA phase 2 e-invoicing requirements, including where applicable:

- Tax invoices
- Simplified invoices
- Credit/Debit notes
- XML generation
- QR codes
- Required cryptographic processing
- Clearance / Reporting
- API communication
- Sandbox testing
- Error handling
- Retry mechanism
- Audit trail

The implementation must follow the latest applicable official ZATCA technical requirements.

3. Offline POS — Critical Component

We require an offline-first POS capable of continuing normal operations during a complete internet outage.

The POS must support:

- Sales while offline
- Payments
- Barcode scanning
- Product and price data stored locally
- Customer data
- Returns
- Shift opening/closing
- Cash management
- Local transaction storage
- Automatic synchronization when the internet returns
- Product/price synchronization from the central server
- Duplicate transaction prevention
- Retry mechanism
- Synchronization status
- Conflict/error handling
- Recovery after application/browser restart or temporary power failure

The synchronization architecture must be designed carefully to guarantee transaction integrity and prevent duplicate financial transactions.

4. Inventory / Sales / Purchase

We will extend Odoo Community functionality for:

- Inventory
- Warehouses
- Barcode
- Sales
- Purchase
- Multi-branch operations

Important Development Requirements

We prefer extending Odoo Community rather than modifying Odoo core whenever possible.

The architecture must be modular and upgrade-friendly.

Before developing new functionality, the developer should identify whether the required functionality already exists in:

1. Odoo Community
2. OCA
3. Approved third-party modules
4. Existing Odoo functionality that can be extended

Third-party modules must be reviewed for licensing and commercial redistribution restrictions before being included in the product.

Deliverables

The selected developer/team will be expected to provide:

- Complete source code for custom development
- Git repository
- Installation/deployment instructions
- Technical documentation
- Database/migration documentation where applicable
- Test cases
- Automated tests where applicable
- API documentation
- Third-party dependency and license list

The product owner must have full access to the source code and repository.

Preferred Developer

We are looking for a developer with:

- Odoo development experience
- Strong Python/Odoo ORM knowledge
- Strong Odoo POS experience
- Experience with Odoo Accounting
- Experience with ZATCA phase 2/Saudi e-invoicing is a major advantage
- Experience building offline/synchronization systems is highly preferred
- Good English communication
- Ability to understand and follow a detailed SRS
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, modular code
