I need a repeatable JMeter script, backed by JavaScript where helpful, that can hit my Power BI report endpoints and give me a clear picture of how long each report takes to load—especially when a user applies a data filter.
Scope
• Build or parameterise HTTP calls so I can point the test at different workspaces and report IDs without editing the test plan each time.
• Capture end-to-end load time, breaking out server vs. client rendering if possible.
• Simulate the filtering action a real user triggers (the checkbox “Filtering data” is my prime concern).
• Include assertions that fail the run when load time exceeds the threshold I will set in the test plan variables.
Tech notes
The environment already has JMeter 5.6 installed and I’m comfortable running the CLI. Feel free to add JSR223 Samplers or Post-Processors in JavaScript/Groovy for correlation. If you need additional plugins (e.g., Custom Thread Groups, JSON Path Extractor) just reference them and I’ll install.
Deliverables
1. .jmx test plan, fully annotated
2. A brief README explaining any script variables and how to point the plan at a new report
3. Example CSV (if you parameterise users, tokens, or report IDs)
4. One sample HTML or JTL report that shows the metrics I can expect
Acceptance
I will load the plan, swap in my credentials, run a 50-user burst, and review the summary report. If it cleanly records load-time metrics for initial page load and the filter interaction—without errors or unhandled redirects—we’re done.
