Install Bridge Joint Rubber Seal

The correct rubber seal profile is already on-site; what remains is the clean, accurate insertion of that seal into expansion joints measuring 2 – 4 inches wide along an urban bridge deck.
Scope of work
• Prepare the joint faces (remove debris, old adhesive, loose concrete) without widening or chipping the slot.
• Apply the specified primer/adhesive supplied with the seal, following the manufacturer’s open-time limits.
• Compress-fit and seat the seal uniformly so it sits flush, with no twists, gaps, or overstretch that could compromise watertightness or movement capacity.
• Carry out a final pull test and visual inspection with me present, then seal the ends and tidy the site.
Site considerations
Traffic management and pedestrian safety are critical in this urban location, so lane closures and barricades must comply with local DOT guidelines. Bring the necessary hand tools, gear-driven rollers, compressors, and PPE; power and lighting can be supplied from the bridge service outlets if required.
Deliverable
A continuous, watertight rubber seal installed the full length of the designated joints, signed off after joint movement and water-spray checks.
If you have recent experience with bridge or parking-deck joint work and can slot this into a single shift (night work preferred to minimise disruption), let’s set a date and run through the site induction.
