Project Overview

We are seeking an experienced web development team or highly skilled full-stack developer to build a sophisticated online marketplace connecting immigration clients with immigration attorneys.

This is not a simple attorney directory or lead-generation website. We are looking to build a scalable platform combining:

Attorney profiles and search
Client/attorney matching
Attorney-client messaging
Case intake
Online payments
Platform/service-fee collection
Client reviews
Haitian Creole/English AI translation
AI-assisted intake summaries

Background and Existing Audience

I am an immigration attorney with a very large following within the immigrant community. My educational videos currently generate approximately 5 million Facebook views per month, and my law office receives approximately 500 telephone calls per day.

We cannot personally represent or even adequately respond to this level of demand.

We therefore want to create a platform that leverages the trust and audience we have already built to connect potential immigration clients with qualified immigration attorneys who participate in our network.

This means that, unlike a new marketplace starting without users, we expect to have an existing audience that can be directed to the platform immediately after launch.

1. Attorney Registration and Profiles

Participating immigration attorneys should be able to create an account and professional profile.

The profile should include information such as:

Attorney name
Photograph
Law firm
Biography
Languages spoken
Immigration practice areas
States/geographic areas served
Whether the attorney handles cases nationwide
Types of cases accepted
Years of experience
Bar admission(s)
Office location(s)
Remote/virtual consultation availability
Consultation information
Client ratings/reviews
Other relevant professional information

The system should allow administrators to verify and approve attorneys before their profiles become publicly available.

2. Attorney Search and Client Selection

Potential clients should be able to search and filter participating attorneys based on criteria such as:

Type of immigration case
Geographic location
Language
Attorney rating
Availability
Other relevant criteria

Clients should be able to review attorney profiles and select the attorney they are interested in hiring.

The platform should be designed to make this process extremely simple, particularly because many of our users may not be technologically sophisticated.

Mobile-first design is essential. We expect a significant percentage of users to access the platform through smartphones.

3. Client Reviews and Ratings

After hiring an attorney through the platform, clients should eventually be able to rate and review their experience.

We need safeguards so that, ideally, only verified clients who actually interacted with or retained an attorney through the platform can submit reviews.

Administrators should have appropriate moderation capabilities.

4. Attorney-Client Engagement and Platform Fee

This is one of the most important components of the project.

Our proposed business model is based on the participating attorney paying our company a predetermined flat platform/referral/service fee when an actual client engagement occurs, rather than simply paying us for a lead.

We therefore need a system that can reliably identify when a potential client has actually retained an attorney.

Ideally, the client should remain within the platform through the initial attorney-selection, engagement, and payment process.

For example:

Client finds or communicates with an attorney through our platform.
Attorney offers representation/engagement through the platform.
Client accepts.
Client makes the required initial payment through the platform or an integrated payment system.
The system recognizes that an engagement has occurred.
The applicable platform fee is automatically calculated/collected or otherwise triggered.
The appropriate amount is transmitted to the attorney in accordance with the configured payment structure.

We are interested in hearing from developers with experience building marketplace payment systems, split payments, connected accounts, escrow-like workflows, or similar platforms.

Because this platform involves lawyers and legal fees, the payment architecture must be configurable so that the final workflow can comply with applicable attorney ethics, trust-account, fee-sharing, referral-fee, and payment-processing requirements.

We specifically want applicants to explain how they would technically structure this workflow and prevent transactions originating on the platform from immediately moving off-platform before the applicable platform fee is triggered.

5. Alternative "Post My Case" Marketplace

In addition to searching for an attorney, we would like potential clients to have another option:

"Tell Us About Your Immigration Case"

The client would complete an intake form containing information such as:

Name
Contact information
Location
Preferred language
Immigration issue/category
Brief description of the case
Other relevant intake questions

Many of our clients speak Haitian Creole.

We therefore want a client to be able to describe the immigration problem naturally in Haitian Creole.

An AI component would then:

Translate the client's Haitian Creole description into English.
Generate a concise, professionally organized case/intake summary.
Categorize the inquiry where possible (asylum, family petition, removal defense, adjustment of status, citizenship, TPS, waiver, etc.).
Distribute or make the inquiry available to appropriate participating attorneys.

Participating attorneys could then indicate their interest in the matter and communicate with the potential client.

We are open to recommendations concerning whether this should operate through email notifications, an attorney dashboard, or both.

6. Automatic Haitian Creole ↔ English Communication

We would ideally like the platform to remove the language barrier between attorneys and clients.

For example:

Client writes in Haitian Creole → Attorney sees the message in English.

Attorney responds in English → Client receives the response in Haitian Creole.

If technically feasible and reliable, we would like this translation to occur automatically within the platform's messaging system while preserving the original message for reference.

Developers should explain what AI/translation technology they recommend for this functionality, anticipated API costs, and how they would address translation accuracy and privacy/confidentiality concerns.

7. Attorney Dashboard

Each participating attorney should have a secure dashboard allowing the attorney to:

Manage profile
Select practice areas
Select geographic/service areas
Receive potential client inquiries
Review translated case summaries
Communicate with potential clients
Accept/decline matters
Send engagement/payment requests
Review clients obtained through the platform
Review payment/transaction history
Review platform fees
Manage notifications
View ratings/reviews

8. Client Dashboard

Clients should have a simple dashboard allowing them to:

Create/manage their account
Search attorneys
Post an immigration inquiry
View interested attorneys
Communicate with attorneys
Receive automatic translations

Rate/review their attorney after appropriate milestones
9. Administrative Dashboard

We need a powerful administrative backend where our team can:

Approve/reject attorney registrations
Verify attorney profiles
Manage clients

Monitor attorney-client matches
Monitor engagement conversions
Monitor transactions
Configure platform fees
Manage reviews

10. Security, Privacy and Scalability

Because users may submit sensitive immigration and personal information, security is extremely important.

The developer should explain the proposed approach to:

Scalability

The architecture should be capable of handling substantial traffic. We already have a large audience and intend to aggressively promote the platform through social media.

11. Technology

We are open to the developer's recommended technology stack.

However, we want a modern, scalable platform — not simply a collection of WordPress plugins unless the applicant can convincingly demonstrate that such an architecture can securely and reliably support the required marketplace, messaging, AI, payment, and administrative functionality.

The system should also be structured so that additional languages and potentially additional areas of law can be added in the future.

12. MVP vs. Full Platform

We are willing to consider a phased development approach.

For example:

Phase 1 / MVP: Attorney registration, profiles, attorney search, client intake, AI translation, attorney notifications, messaging, basic dashboard, client selection, payment/engagement tracking, and administrative controls.

Phase 2: Advanced matching, sophisticated reviews, analytics, automated workflows, additional AI functionality, additional languages, enhanced attorney dashboards, mobile app/API, and other features.

If you recommend a phased approach, please clearly identify what you would include in the MVP.

SPEED IS VERY IMPORTANT

Time is of the essence.

We already have an audience and substantial inbound demand. We are not waiting to build an audience after launching the website.

Accordingly, we will give significant preference to a qualified developer/team that can begin immediately and produce a functional MVP quickly without sacrificing security or core functionality.

Please provide a realistic development schedule with milestones and indicate the earliest date on which you can deliver a functional MVP that can begin accepting real users.

Final Note

We are looking for more than someone who can design an attractive website.

We need a developer or team capable of building the infrastructure for a real, scalable legal-services marketplace involving attorney/client matching, multilingual communication, AI-assisted intake, transaction tracking, marketplace payments, reviews, and administrative oversight.
