I am launching a new skincare line and the very first product on our roadmap is a daily-use moisturizer with unmistakable, long-lasting hydration. I’m looking for a cosmetic chemist or formulator who can turn that idea into a safe, manufacturable, and market-ready product.
Here’s what I need you to handle:
• Translate the brief into an ingredient deck with INCI names, exact percentages, and a clear rationale for each component’s function and skin feel.
• Produce bench samples and iterate until we hit the hydration target (measurable via TEWL or similar).
• Run basic stability, pH, and preservative efficacy tests, flagging any concerns early.
• Deliver a concise manufacturing process sheet that a contract manufacturer can follow without guesswork, including critical control points, heating/cooling phases, and recommended equipment.
• Supply the supporting documentation: safety data, regulatory notes for US/EU rollout, and projected cost per kilo at pilot scale.
I’m happy to discuss preferred actives, texture goals, scent (or fragrance-free), and packaging constraints once we connect; your experience with humectants, occlusives, and emollients that keep skin plump for 24 h will be key. If you’ve guided a startup through their first SKU before, let me know—seeing real-world examples of moisturizers you formulated will help me choose quickly.
Please outline your approach, typical timeline for lab batches to final formula approval, and any in-house testing capabilities you offer.
