Project: Finish and verify a 100 × 90 mm, 2-layer microcontroller-controlled 12 V lead-acid battery charger. It uses an LM338 regulator, an 18-0-18 V transformer, and an STM32F030C8T6 with a 16×2 LCD.
What's already done:
• A complete netlist, a BOM, a KiCad schematic and an empty PCB with net classes and design rules.
• Firmware written in C with CMSIS (untested). It covers constant-current/constant-voltage charging, four current settings (3/5/7/9 Ah), an NTC temperature cutback, reverse-polarity protection, four status LEDs, a buzzer and the LCD.
What I need from you:
1. Review the schematic and fix any errors, including pin numbers and footprints.
2. Place and route the 2-layer PCB. Use wide copper for the 1 A charge path and keep the analog traces clean. Run DRC and send Gerber and drill files.
3. Compile the firmware, fix any issues, and calibrate the voltage, current and temperature readings on the bench.
4. Test with a bench supply and a resistor load first, then a real 12 V battery. Check charging, full-charge detection, battery removal, reverse polarity and over-temperature.
5. Write a short test report and a build guide.
Skills needed: KiCad, power electronics (LM338 and MOSFET circuits), STM32 (register-level C, ADC, PWM, SWD), and EMC-aware 2-layer layout.
Deliverables: KiCad project, Gerbers, drill files, pick-and-place file, final BOM, tested firmware (source and .hex), and a test report.
To apply: send 2 similar projects, fixed quote, and your estimated timeline.
