I have an existing C++ project built on the .NET stack that is already stable but looks dated and is missing a couple of key capabilities. I will give you full access to the repository and a walkthrough of the current build.
First, I want the user-interface layout reorganised. The visual theme, colours and fonts can stay as they are; what I need is a more logical, modern arrangement of screens, panels and controls so the workflow feels intuitive. Think cleaner navigation, better grouping of related actions and an overall reduction in clicks for the end user. If you are comfortable working with WinForms (or the equivalent UI layer you find in the code) inside Visual Studio, this part should be straightforward.
Second, I’d like one completely new feature added. I will outline the behaviour in detail once we connect, but it will involve extending the current business logic, wiring it to the redesigned UI and making sure it plays nicely with existing data structures. Solid C++/CLI knowledge and a good grasp of .NET libraries will be essential here.
Please keep the existing coding style intact, comment any new sections clearly and make sure the final build compiles without warnings. I will test the deliverables on my side, but if you can include a short README that explains setup steps and any external dependencies it will speed up acceptance.
Looking forward to seeing how you can streamline the interface and bring the new feature to life.
