I want a small but reliable automation that scans one or more folders, opens every Excel file it finds, filters the rows according to rules I will supply, then merges the filtered data from every relevant sheet into a clean, consolidated output file.
Key points to build around:
• Source files: Excel only, no other formats.
• Logic: data filtering first, then merging data from multiple sheets inside each workbook before the final consolidation.
• Result: a single Excel (or CSV if that is simpler) generated in a target folder each time the tool runs.
The solution can be written in Power Automate (cloud or desktop), VBA, Python, or another lightweight option—as long as it runs on Windows without extra licensing. Please include:
- well-commented source,
- a brief setup/run guide,
- configurable paths and filter criteria,
- basic error handling so the run never stalls unnoticed.
If you already have similar scripts or flows, let me know; otherwise a quick proof-of-concept video is enough for acceptance before final delivery.
