I need a seasoned CAD specialist to turn a set of functional requirements and rough sketches into a complete mechanical design. The work will start in AutoCAD for clean 2-D layouts, then move into SolidWorks for fully constrained 3-D parts and assemblies. At this stage I’m keeping the exact component under wraps—think along the lines of a gear train, an engine sub-part, or a lightweight chassis—but the final brief will include all critical dimensions, tolerances, and performance targets.

Your task covers the full modelling chain: parametric part creation, assembly fit-up, detailed drawings, and basic interference or stress checks so I can progress straight to prototyping or production without re-work. Native files are essential for future edits.

Deliverables
• SolidWorks files (.sldprt, .sldasm) with an organised, editable feature tree
• AutoCAD DWG/DXF 2-D drawings plus print-ready PDFs
• STEP or IGES exports for CAM and simulation
• A short report confirming clearances and any preliminary FEA results (if performed)

Acceptance criteria
• Models open error-free in the current SolidWorks release
• All drawings fully dimensioned and follow standard GD&T practices
• No unresolved mates, missing references, or suppressed features in assemblies

If your background sits firmly in mechanical design and you are comfortable shifting between AutoCAD and SolidWorks, let’s get this rolling.
