I want to bring a next-generation personal finance experience to Android users. The app will focus exclusively on helping individuals understand, control, and improve their day-to-day money habits through a clean, intuitive interface and modern Android standards (Jetpack, Material 3, Kotlin/Java—whichever you prefer).
Key feature set
• Budget tracking – users define monthly limits, see real-time progress bars, and receive gentle overspend alerts.
• Expense categorization – automatic tagging of transactions pulled from bank feeds or CSV imports, with manual override.
• Savings goals – flexible targets, visual progress rings, and milestone reminders.
Scope and expectations
Deliver a polished APK plus complete, well-commented source code, unit-tested core logic, and a brief setup/readme so I can build and publish from Android Studio without extra configuration. Cloud sync or local-only storage is open for discussion, but data must remain secure and private. UI/UX polish is important; I’m aiming for a feeling similar to top-tier fintech apps, just streamlined for the three features above.
Timeline and milestones are flexible—quality and maintainability come first. Let me know how you would architect the solution, the APIs or libraries you recommend, and any questions you have about edge cases or data handling.
