I need an experienced developer to take a deep look at my Android application and the server calls that power it, then tune both sides so the user experience feels instant and light. Right now the app shows occasional frame drops, long cold-start times, and higher-than-expected RAM usage. I want measurable gains in speed and responsiveness without sacrificing stability, plus a clear reduction in memory footprint.
What you’ll actually do
• Profile the APK with Android Studio Profiler, Systrace, and (if you prefer) tools such as Firebase Performance or LeakCanary to isolate hot paths and leaks.
• Review the API layer and suggest tweaks—batching, caching, pagination, or server-side query changes—so network latency no longer blocks the UI thread.
• Refactor any inefficient Kotlin/Java code, bitmaps, or Rx/Coroutine chains that are driving up CPU or memory.
• Produce a concise before-and-after report that includes launch time, frame time, and heap size metrics, backed by screenshots or log exports.
Acceptance criteria
1. App cold-start drops below 2 s on a mid-range Android 11 device.
2. No visible jank when scrolling the main feed for 60 s under normal network conditions.
3. Peak heap usage reduced by at least 25 % in the same scenario.
4. A short write-up of every change, so I can merge and maintain it easily.
Code is in a private Git repo; I’ll grant you access along with staging server credentials. You can work branch-first or submit patches—whatever streamlines review. If you enjoy squeezing every millisecond out of an Android stack, let’s talk.
