About the Role
We are looking for a *freelance AI Video Creator / AI Filmmaker* who can use generative AI as a filmmaking tool to create high-quality visual content for brands, advertising and social media.
The ideal person is not just someone who knows AI tools. They should have a strong visual and storytelling sensibility, understand filmmaking and editing, and know how to turn a creative brief into a finished piece of content.
*An important requirement for this role is that you already have active paid subscriptions to the AI tools you use. We are specifically looking for someone who has their own AI tool stack and can work independently.*
This is a freelance, project-based role, with the potential for ongoing work.
What You'll Do
* Take a creative brief and develop the visual approach, story, shots and overall execution.
* Conceptualize, storyboard and create AI-generated or AI-assisted films, videos and social content.
* Use AI video, image, voice and music generation tools to create original visual content.
* Combine AI-generated material with traditional video editing, compositing, motion graphics and post-production.
* Create multiple shots that maintain *visual consistency, character continuity, environments, lighting and overall film language*.
* Experiment with different AI workflows to achieve the desired creative outcome rather than relying on a single tool or preset.
* Handle the process from *concept → prompting → generation → selection → editing → sound → colour → final output*.
* Adapt content for different formats such as Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and other social platforms.
* Work closely with the creative/directing team to understand the brief, take feedback and iterate on the work.
* Keep AI-generated assets, prompts and project files organised so that projects can be revisited or adapted when required.
* Stay updated with new AI video and image generation tools and continuously explore better ways of creating film-quality work.
AI Tools
You should already be actively using and have *paid subscriptions to relevant AI tools*.
This could include tools such as:
*Video:* Runway, Kling, Luma, Sora, Pika or similar
*Image:* Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Flux or similar
*Voice / Audio:* ElevenLabs, Suno or similar
*Other:* HeyGen and other relevant generative AI tools
You do *not* need to know every tool listed above.
What matters is that you have a strong working knowledge of a few tools and know how to get consistently good creative results from them.
Required Skills & Experience
* 1–3+ years of experience in video production, editing, motion design, content creation or a related creative field.
* Strong hands-on experience creating *AI-generated or AI-assisted video*.
* Active paid subscriptions to at least *2–3 relevant AI tools*.
* Strong understanding of prompting and the ability to refine prompts through experimentation.
* Good understanding of filmmaking fundamentals: *composition, camera movement, lighting, framing, pacing, continuity and visual storytelling*.
* Proficiency in at least one professional editing/post-production tool such as Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve or CapCut.
* Ability to take a creative idea and execute it independently.
* Strong visual taste and attention to detail.
* Understanding of social-first content and different aspect ratios/formats.
* Ability to work with feedback and make multiple iterations quickly.
* A portfolio/reel demonstrating *actual AI video work*, not just static AI images.
A Big Plus
* Experience creating in advertising and branded content.
* Experience combining AI-generated footage with live-action footage, stock, motion graphics or traditional VFX.
* Experience with AI character consistency and multi-shot storytelling.
* Experience with AI voice generation, lip-sync or character animation.
* Familiarity with sound design and AI-generated music.
* Basic understanding of copyright, licensing and responsible use of AI-generated content.
