I want to turn my idea for a compact, largely 3D-printed desktop saw into a fully-engineered reality. The tool must slice through small stones and rocks—think cabochon blanks or thin agate slabs—so torque, rigidity, and vibration control are essential. I expect an electric drive system (mains or low-voltage PSU) and a purpose-built safety guard integrated into the printed frame. Other niceties such as dust extraction or angle adjustment can be left as future add-ons; the immediate brief is a safe, reliable stone-cutting prototype.
Here’s what I need from you:
• Complete CAD model ready for FDM printing (STL/STEP)
• Bill of materials for off-the-shelf parts: motor, blade, bearings, fasteners, switch, power electronics
• Clear assembly guide with photos or renders, wiring diagram included
• Performance notes: target RPM, expected torque, and why the chosen blade spec works for rock
If you have experience designing small power tools, lapidary equipment, or high-stress 3D-printed mechanisms, I’d love to see examples.
