About the Role This is an independent contractor position offering a flexible work schedule and ongoing opportunities. The interpreter will provide professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings. Assignments are conducted entirely through phone or Zoom and are available on a regular basis, depending on the demand for specific languages and the interpreters qualifications. Key Responsibilities Provide professional interpreting services in healthcare settings. Conduct assignments through phone or Zoom. Ensure accurate, complete, and clear interpretation with high fidelity to the original communication. Qualifications/Requirements Fluency in both Haitian Creole and English Demonstrated experience in medical, legal, and community settings. Strong ability to interpret orally between Haitian Creole and English in both directions. Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Skilled in meeting the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders. Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience. Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary. Must have a reliable phone, a laptop or desktop computer, and a stable high-speed internet connection. Access to a quiet, private workspace to support remote assignments.
