Project overview
I have designed a program which will suit my needs, though would love to hear any feedback from prospective developers. In particular I'm open to hearing alternative format/platform recommendations e.g. a website as opposed to desktop software. Providing it meets my requirements I'm happy to explore different options. The program itself is a ‘client-relationship management’ (CRM) software, with a heavy emphasis on task scheduling, and task automation in particular. The CRM would have 2 users who would share the same database from different computers remotely, so this database would need internet connectivity, and to be updated in real-time. The core idea behind the software is to be able to auto-populate a calendar with client-interaction tasks based upon different client attributes entered into the database. So we would begin with a very simple database where I can import all of my contacts, along with generic variables included in most CRMs (first name, last name, phone, email). I would then be able to add custom variables, and have the program add tasks into a calendar based upon these variables. I'll provide some examples for clarity. Some examples are as follows: I would like to be able to add a column for 'birthday' wherein I can input the birthdays of certain clients, and have the program set a task to remind me to write them a letter 5 days before their birthday each year. Another example would be a custom field to input the date upon which I 'closed' a client, and have the program set tasks to call that client once a year, each year, upon the anniversary of their on-boarding to check in with them.
