Write Toddler Counting Story

This project centers on an educational picture-book manuscript that introduces numbers and counting to toddlers aged 1-3. The tone needs to be warm, playful and rhythmic so little listeners stay engaged while they absorb each new numeral. Simple repetition, gentle rhyme and tactile-style prompts (“tap three times”, “wiggle five fingers”) are all welcome techniques.

I will supply the final page count once we agree on the outline, but I expect a concise board-book length rather than a long narrative. Please keep vocabulary age-appropriate, with short sentences and plenty of sensory cues I can later pass on to an illustrator.

Deliverables
• Full English manuscript in MS Word or Google Docs
• Page-by-page illustration notes (one-line cues are fine)
• A brief rationale explaining how the story structure reinforces counting skills

Acceptance criteria
• Numbers 1–10 appear in consecutive order, each on its own spread
• Consistent, toddler-friendly rhythm and meter throughout
• Clear educational reinforcement for every number, free of factual errors

Once the manuscript meets these points I’ll approve the milestone and move on to illustration.
