WordPress Maintenance Tracking Portal

I want a purpose-built portal added to my WordPress site that lets our Maintenance Staff log in and work exclusively with a centralised maintenance schedule. The focus is purely on tracking upcoming, recurring, and completed jobs; tenant or property-manager views can wait, but the code should make adding them later painless.

Here’s what I need the build to cover: a custom user role called “Maintenance Staff”, a clean dashboard where that role can see a calendar and list view of every scheduled task, and simple controls to mark work as done or reschedule it. From the admin side I must be able to create tasks, set frequencies or one-off dates, add priorities, and trigger reminders—email or push alerts for nearing deadlines would be a welcome bonus if it fits.

Please develop the solution as a lightweight plugin or a well-structured child theme so WordPress core and theme updates never overwrite your work. Follow WordPress coding standards, keep third-party dependencies to a minimum, and document any you do use.
