I have two Windows Server 2025 nodes configured for Storage Replica with the new Enhanced RAW Logging feature turned on. The partnership is created without complaints, but the moment replication should start it stops abruptly.
Event ID 9001 is logged with the message “Source I: block-copy metadata failure” and status code 0xC0530041.
What I need:
• Pin-point the root cause behind that metadata failure and explain why replication refuses to start.
• Apply (or guide me through) the corrective steps—registry, permissions, volume attributes, RAW log parameters, whatever is required—until initial sync completes cleanly.
• Verify that Enhanced RAW Logging continues to operate without the log filling up or generating storage errors once replication is running.
• Provide a concise report so I can replicate the fix in production.
You may work through PowerShell (StorageReplica, Get-SRGroup, Set-SRPartnership), Windows Admin Center, or any preferred diagnostic tools—as long as you keep proper screenshots or command transcripts for the report.
Remote session will be arranged immediately; both servers are on an isolated test VLAN so reboots and role removal are possible without downtime concerns.
