I have an existing desktop application that runs natively on both Windows and macOS and is built around core data-management features. It has served us well, but it now needs a round of improvements on three fronts: squashing persistent bugs, adding a few new functional blocks, and giving the interface a modern, user-friendly polish.

Here is how I picture the engagement:

1. Bug fixes
• Diagnose and resolve the crashes, syncing glitches, and any platform-specific quirks that users are reporting. Stability on the latest versions of Windows 10/11 and macOS Sonoma is non-negotiable.

2. New features
• Extend the current data-handling workflow with several small but valuable additions (think advanced filtering, quick-export shortcuts, and an in-app update checker). I’ll walk you through the exact specs once we’re underway.

3. UI/UX improvements
• Refresh the layout, typography, and colour palette so the app feels cohesive on both operating systems. Native controls are preferred where possible; cross-platform consistency is a must.

Deliverables I will review for sign-off
• A compiled Windows installer (.exe or .msi) and a signed macOS build (.dmg)
• Source code with clear commit history showing each change set
• A short changelog covering fixed issues, new features, and UI tweaks
• Build/run instructions so another developer can reproduce the release

If you have solid experience with cross-platform desktop frameworks (e.g., Electron, Qt, .NET MAUI, or native Objective-C/C# hybrids) and an eye for clean interface design, I’d love to hear how you would approach this upgrade and roughly how long you’d need. Let’s bring this data-management tool up to today’s standards while keeping the learning curve low for our users.
