WhatsApp Cloud API Setup + Complete Website Integration for Cab Booking Website

Project Overview

I am looking for an experienced WhatsApp Cloud API / Meta Business API developer to set up WhatsApp Cloud API from start to finish and integrate it with our existing OnTime Cabs cab-booking website.

This is a complete implementation project. I need someone who can handle Meta setup → WhatsApp API → templates → webhook → backend integration → website integration → testing → production deployment → documentation and handover.

WhatsApp API Setup

Freelancer must handle the complete Meta setup, including:

Meta Business Portfolio configuration
WhatsApp Business Account
WhatsApp Business phone number
Meta Developer App
WhatsApp Cloud API
API authentication
Webhook
Webhook verification
Message templates
Template variables
Production configuration

All accounts/assets must remain under OnTime Cabs ownership.

The freelancer should receive appropriate access to perform the work.

Webhook Requirements

Configure and test webhook for relevant WhatsApp events including:

Sent
Delivered
Read
Failed
Incoming events where applicable

Webhook events should be logged and connected with the website/backend.

Website Integration

WhatsApp integration must happen through our secure backend.

Do NOT expose:

Access tokens
API secrets
Database credentials
Webhook secrets

in frontend JavaScript or publicly accessible code.

Database / Logging

WhatsApp messages should be properly logged.

We need to be able to track:

Booking ID
Customer
Mobile number
Message type
Template name
WhatsApp message ID
Sent status
Delivered status
Read status
Failed status
Error information
Timestamp
Important Requirements
Duplicate Protection

If the same booking event is triggered twice, the customer should not receive duplicate messages accidentally.

Error Handling

If WhatsApp fails:

The booking itself should NOT fail.

Example:

Booking created successfully

WhatsApp API temporarily fails

Booking remains confirmed

↓

Error is logged

↓

Admin can see the WhatsApp failure

Testing

Freelancer must perform complete end-to-end testing.

Testing should include:

Normal booking
Payment confirmation
Driver assignment
Booking modification
Booking cancellation
Trip reminder
Trip completion
Review request
Invalid WhatsApp number
WhatsApp/API failure
Duplicate message prevention
Webhook testing
Multiple booking testing
Production test

A final test report with screenshots/logs should be provided.

Handover Requirements

This is VERY important.

At completion, I need complete handover of:

Source code
Database changes
API configuration documentation
Webhook documentation
WhatsApp template list
Template variable mapping
Meta/WhatsApp configuration details
Deployment instructions
Testing report
Troubleshooting guide
Architecture diagram
Required environment variables/configuration
Account/access checklist

The system must not depend permanently on the freelancer.

Another developer should be able to maintain the integration using the documentation.

Account Ownership

All important accounts must remain owned by OnTime Cabs.

The freelancer must NOT create the production WhatsApp/Meta assets under their personal ownership.

On completion, all necessary access/configuration must be handed over to OnTime Cabs.
