US Plains Geography Report

I’m compiling a social-studies report on three major U.S. landform regions—the Great Plains, Mississippi Alluvial Plain, and Coastal Plains—and I need solid, citation-backed research to anchor it.

Scope of the work
For each of the three regions, gather and organize:
• A complete list of every state that lies wholly or partly within the region, paired with its capital city.
• A concise overview of the prevailing climate zones (temperature ranges, precipitation patterns, Köppen classification where available).
• An inventory of the region’s principal natural resources, noting both historical significance and current commercial importance.

Research standards
All facts must come from reputable sources such as USGS, NOAA, state geological surveys, academic journals, or government data portals. Use consistent in-text citations and a full bibliography; APA, MLA, or Chicago is fine—just stick to one style throughout.

Final deliverable
A well-structured written report (Word or Google Doc preferred) that flows logically from region to region, includes clearly labeled tables for the state/capital lists, and places climate and resource discussions in separate subsections. If you can add small locator maps or charts, that’s a helpful bonus.
