Urgent Stripe Integration for React

My custom-built React application needs Stripe integrated right away so users can submit payments confidently and I can receive the events I need for fulfilment and accounting. The codebase is JavaScript throughout, with React on the front end and a lightweight Node/Express layer handling server-side logic.

Scope of work
• Configure Stripe API keys as secure environment variables and confirm best practices for key rotation.
• Build the payment flow (CardElement, tokenisation, payment intent creation) so charges are processed securely.
• Set up the required webhooks—at minimum payment_intent.succeeded, payment_intent.payment_failed and charge.refunded—then store or act on the payloads in my backend.
• Run full test-mode transactions with the Stripe CLI and dashboard, validating success, failure and refund scenarios.
• Provide concise hand-off notes or inline documentation so I can maintain or extend the integration later.

Acceptance criteria
1. A test transaction in Stripe’s dashboard shows as succeeded and the corresponding webhook data is logged or persisted in my app.
2. All secrets are stored outside the repo (dotenv).
3. No console or network errors in React during the checkout flow.
4. Instructions to switch to live mode are clear and complete.
