I’m preparing my UK Global Talent (UKRI route) application and expect the endorsement decision very soon. What I need now is a clear, written opinion on one specific point of eligibility: whether my French “attestation de demande d’asile” (asylum application certificate, issued more than six months ago and valid while my appeal is pending) satisfies the Home Office requirement that I must be “permitted to stay in the country of application for more than six months”.

Background you’ll need:
• Nationality: Syrian
• Current residence: France, continuously for five years
• Status in France: initial asylum request refused, currently under appeal, certificate still valid
• No UK visa application centre exists in Syria, so France is my only practical location for entry-clearance submission
• Fully funded PhD contract in the UK starts on 28 September

Your assessment should also cover any potential suitability red flags that an outstanding asylum appeal might raise, plus realistic contingency options if the time frame becomes tight (for example, priority processing or switching routes once inside the UK).

Deliverable: a concise, well-reasoned memo or voice-call summary (your choice) that cites relevant Immigration Rules, policy guidance, and recent casework examples. I’m ready to move immediately and will provide any additional documents you request. Let me know your earliest availability and estimated turnaround time so we can keep to the 28 September start date.
