Urgent Backend System Enhancement

I’m racing against a tight deadline and need a dedicated backend developer who can dive straight into an existing production code-base and elevate it without breaking what already works. The current system is live; I’ll share full repository access, architecture diagrams, and a short feature backlog as soon as we kick off. Stack flexibility is important to me—whether you are most comfortable in Node.js, Python/Django, or Java/Spring, the goal is to improve reliability, speed, and maintainability.

Here’s what I need from you right away:
• Rapid familiarisation with the current architecture, followed by a concise assessment of performance bottlenecks and fragile areas.
• Implementation of new endpoints and business logic, keeping coding standards high and documentation clear.
• Query tuning, caching or other optimisations to reduce latency under load.
• Swift bug fixes and security hardening as you encounter issues.
• Incremental pull requests with unit tests and explanatory comments so we can review quickly.

Deliverables will be considered complete when all new features work as specified, existing functionality remains intact, automated tests pass, and a short change-log explains each enhancement.
