I am building a compact personal-mobility device intended for everyday use in dense urban areas. The core requirement is seamless smartphone connectivity: riders should be able to pair their phones quickly, view key ride data, and handle basic controls through an app. I would also like the hardware to play nicely with a laptop for diagnostics or firmware updates, so please factor USB-C or Bluetooth LE into the electronics plan.
Here is the scope as I see it:
• Concept refinement and preliminary sketches that balance manoeuvrability with city-friendly dimensions
• Full CAD and mechanical design files (STEP or SolidWorks) suitable for rapid prototyping or CNC fabrication
• Electronics architecture, PCB layout, and embedded firmware enabling reliable phone pairing and the laptop-based service interface
• A working prototype (or clearly documented build package) that can be tested on typical city streets at moderate speed
• Brief test report outlining performance, connectivity stability, and any recommended tweaks
Self-balancing or GPS navigation are not mandatory, yet I am open to suggestions if you can integrate them without blowing up complexity.
Acceptance criteria
– Device operates for at least 30 minutes on a single charge under urban stop-and-go conditions
– Smartphone app displays real-time speed, battery level, and ride statistics with no dropouts during a 10-minute test run
– Firmware can be flashed or debugged via laptop in under 3 minutes
If you have verifiable experience designing micro-mobility hardware, embedded systems, and companion apps, I would love to review your approach and a rough timeline.
