I’m ready to bring a multi-tenant, web-based Fleet Management platform to life, aimed specifically at truck operations. The core of the build revolves around three functions that must feel seamless to the end user: live vehicle tracking, automated maintenance scheduling, and full driver management.
The application has to talk directly to common GPS tracking systems so every truck shows up in real time on a map and pushes location data into our database for analytics and alerts. I also need a clean two-way integration with popular accounting software (think QuickBooks or Xero) so mileage, maintenance costs, and driver expenses flow straight into the books without manual import. Fuel-card links and other add-ons may follow, so keep the architecture open for additional webhooks and APIs.
Although the platform will support any vehicle class in the future, this first release is truck-centric: axle counts, service intervals, inspection checklists, and driver logs all need truck-specific fields.
Key deliverables
• System architecture & tech stack outline (preferred: React or Vue + Node/Express or Django + Postgres, but I’m open).
• UX wireframes and responsive UI for admin, dispatcher, and driver roles.
• Secure, subscription-ready multi-tenant backend with REST/GraphQL API.
• Integrations: device-agnostic GPS feed + accounting software connector.
• Automated testing, CI/CD pipeline, and deployment guide.
• Documentation and a short hand-over workshop once the MVP is stable.
Acceptance criteria will be a working MVP on a staging server that lets me:
1. Invite a company, add trucks, see locations update in real time.
2. Set service rules and receive maintenance reminders generated automatically.
3. Create driver profiles, assign them to trips, and view their activity history.
4. Sync an accounting sandbox and confirm that cost data transfers correctly.
If you’ve built SaaS products with real-time data streams, mapping libraries (Mapbox, Leaflet, Google Maps), and third-party accounting APIs, I’d love to see how you’d tackle this project and estimate timelines to a production-ready release.
