I’m developing a traditional mud house and need a complete architectural design package that respects vernacular construction methods while meeting today’s comfort standards. The concept must revolve around three key features I have already chosen: a central courtyard for light and ventilation, a thatched roof to preserve authenticity, and a generous front veranda that invites social gatherings.
I’ll rely on you to translate those elements into clear drawings and specifications I can hand straight to local builders. Adobe, rammed-earth, or cob detailing—whichever fits the climate and soil—should be reflected in the wall sections and material notes. Natural ventilation paths, passive cooling strategies, and rain-water handling need to be considered from the start so the design works without heavy mechanical systems.
Deliverables I expect
• Site-responsive floor plans, elevations, and sections showing the courtyard, veranda, and roof structure
• 3D massing or renders that capture the experiential feel of the spaces
• Construction details highlighting mud wall techniques, roof truss layout, and moisture protection layers
• A concise material and finish schedule focusing on locally sourced, low-embodied-energy options
Files should arrive in both PDF and editable CAD (DWG or similar). With those in hand I’ll coordinate structural checks and cost estimates locally. If something in the brief needs clarification, let me know early so we can keep the workflow smooth.
