I am finalising a full series of school textbooks for Classes 1-8 and need a meticulous eye to catch every single issue before the files go to press. Your brief covers both content and alignment errors—so alongside spelling, grammar, factual or terminology slips, I also expect you to spot misplaced headers, uneven margins, skewed images, mis-numbered questions, and any other layout inconsistencies that could distract young readers.
Subjects in scope
• Maths, Science, and SST
• English, Hindi, and Grammar
• Computer and EVS
Each book is already typeset in MS Word and, for a few upper-grade titles, Adobe InDesign. Return clean, publication-ready files with all textual edits shown in Track Changes and layout comments clearly flagged. If you can adjust the InDesign files directly, even better.
I do not yet have a fixed style guide, so I will look to you for practical advice on setting one: font hierarchy, heading levels, numbering, citation formats, and any best-practice rules that will keep the whole series consistent.
Acceptance criteria
• All linguistic errors corrected and justified
• Layout reviewed page by page with visible annotations or direct fixes
• Summary sheet listing recurring issues and a draft style guide for future editions
If you have a background in educational publishing or have proofread multi-subject series before, let me know—please include a short sample of a similar project so I can gauge your approach.
