I’m rebuilding my website so it genuinely hooks students and keeps them active on every visit. The project centres on boosting user engagement—longer sessions, repeat log-ins, and meaningful interactions—rather than simply adding new pages.
Current status
A basic site is already online, but navigation feels flat and content isn’t pulling learners back. I need it re-thought from the ground up with a student-first mindset and an interface that feels modern, intuitive, and fun.
Scope of work
• Conduct a quick UX audit to highlight friction points.
• Redesign core pages (home, dashboard, resources, profile) with responsive layouts.
• Build engagement features such as personalised dashboards, progress indicators, light gamification badges, or other ideas you believe will resonate with students.
• Optimise performance so pages load fast even on campus Wi-Fi.
• Add analytics hooks (GA4, Mixpanel, or similar) so we can track session length, clicks, and return frequency.
• Ensure the codebase is clean, documented, and easy for my small team to maintain.
Tech flexibility
The current stack is standard HTML/CSS/JS with a lightweight Node backend, yet I’m open to frameworks (React, Next, Vue) if they improve velocity and maintainability. Suggest what you believe best meets the goal of higher engagement.
Deliverables
1. Figma or equivalent design files for approval.
2. Production-ready, responsive website code pushed to GitHub.
3. Deployment guide or CI/CD config so new features roll out smoothly.
4. Short video walkthrough highlighting engagement features and analytics dashboards.
Acceptance criteria
• Mobile and desktop Lighthouse scores ≥ 90.
• Average session duration increases after launch (baseline will be shared).
• All new pages meet basic accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA).
Timelines can be flexible if justified by stronger results, but a clear milestone plan will help us stay on track. I’ll supply branding assets, existing code, and access to the live server once we begin.
