A new building project is moving into the steel phase and I need complete shop-ready documentation. I will share the engineer’s general arrangement drawings in DWG/PDF; from those you will create fabrication plans for every beam, column, and connection in line with our local structural-steel code.

Use the CAD/BIM platform you are most comfortable with—AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, Advance Steel, or similar—so long as the final files open cleanly on our end. Clarity is critical: weld symbols, cut lengths, bolt schedules, plate thicknesses, and any camber or coping details must be unmistakable to the workshop crew who’ll be working strictly to local standards.

Deliverables
• Fabrication drawings (PDF + source files)
• NC/DXF files for plate and beam processing
• A consolidated material take-off (Excel)

I will review drawings against the architect’s model; approval is complete once the local fabricator confirms all dimensions, quantities, and codes line up. Turnaround on the first draft is ideal within one week of receiving the base drawings, then we’ll iterate quickly to final.
