DIRECT HAUL CONNECT (DHC) — SHORT-FORM VIDEO MARKETING PACKAGE
I am looking for a creative video editor/content creator to produce a PACKAGE of professional short-form social media videos for Direct Haul Connect (DHC), a freight-management and carrier-support platform serving owner-operators and small trucking carriers.
Website: directhaulconnect.com
Please review the website before submitting your proposal. I want someone who takes the time to understand what DHC actually does rather than creating a generic trucking/dispatch advertisement.
My initial fixed budget is approximately $250. In your proposal, please tell me how many UNIQUE, professionally edited 20–30 second videos you can provide within that budget.
I value QUALITY over quantity. I do not want several versions of essentially the same video with different music or text. Each video should have its own message, concept, or angle that we can rotate across social media.
THE FEEL I WANT
I want these videos to feel REAL and relatable to actual owner-operators. I do NOT want the typical trucking advertisement with fake earnings claims, flashy money, luxury cars, unrealistic promises, or “get rich trucking” marketing.
DHC comes from real trucking and carrier experience. The content should feel like it understands what drivers and truck owners actually deal with.
ONE MAJOR VIDEO CONCEPT
“YOUR 10-HOUR BREAK SHOULDN’T BECOME YOUR SECOND SHIFT.”
An owner-operator may finally park after driving all day, but the work often doesn’t stop. They may still be searching load boards, calling brokers, checking rates, handling paperwork, and trying to figure out their next move.
When are they supposed to actually eat, shower, sleep, reset, and prepare to safely drive again?
DHC helps with the business behind the truck so owner-operators can spend more of their downtime actually resting and preparing for the road.
A message I like is:
“While you rest, we can be working on your next move.”
This should NOT imply or promise that a load will always be available.
OTHER VIDEO ANGLES CAN INCLUDE
• “You bought a truck to own a business — not to become the driver, dispatcher, negotiator, and paperwork department all at once.”
• Showing the REAL DHC platform and what an owner-operator experiences using it.
• Flat weekly service fee versus giving up a percentage of each load’s revenue.
• Helping new and growing owner-operators manage the business responsibilities behind the truck.
• Carrier control — DHC provides support, but the carrier makes the final decisions about their truck and loads.
WHAT DHC HELPS WITH
DHC provides support with load searching, broker communication, rate negotiation support, paperwork, freight management, and planning based on the carrier’s equipment, preferences, schedule, and operating goals.
DHC charges a flat weekly service fee and does not take a percentage of the carrier’s load revenue.
USING THE REAL PLATFORM
I want the videos to incorporate my REAL website/platform where appropriate instead of relying entirely on generic stock footage.
For the freelancer I select, I may provide temporary DEMO carrier access so you can experience the carrier side of the platform and understand what makes it useful. This will contain no real customer information and will not provide administrative access.
I encourage the selected creator to identify features or benefits inside the platform that could make strong future content.
VIDEO REQUIREMENTS
• Approximately 20–30 seconds per video
• Vertical 9:16 format
• Ready for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Professional captions/text overlays
• Professional pacing and transitions
• Appropriate music/audio
• Realistic trucking visuals where useful
• DHC website/platform footage where appropriate
• Voiceover where it improves the content
• Each video should have a different message/angle
• No fake income claims or guaranteed freight/revenue claims
LONG-TERM OPPORTUNITY
I am not simply looking for someone to make a few videos and disappear.
I would like to find a creative freelancer who understands the DHC brand and may want the opportunity to grow with us as the platform grows.
This initial video package will be our starting project. If we work well together and I am happy with the quality, I expect to need ongoing short-form videos, social media content, platform feature videos, educational trucking content, and future advertising campaigns.
I especially value someone who can bring ideas to the table, not simply wait for me to tell them every scene to create.
WHEN YOU BID, PLEASE INCLUDE:
1. How many UNIQUE 20–30 second videos you can produce for approximately $250 total.
2. Examples of your best short-form business/social media advertising work.
3. Whether voiceover is included.
4. How many revisions are included.
5. Your expected turnaround time.
6. Whether you are interested in potentially working with DHC on an ongoing basis.
7. After reviewing directhaulconnect.com, tell me ONE content/video idea you would recommend for DHC.
I will be looking closely at portfolios and proposals. I am interested in building a professional brand and potentially developing a long-term working relationship with the right creator.
