Shopify Metals Commodity Integration

I use Shopify as my storefront and now need it to talk seamlessly with a third-party app we internally call “Buying Commodity.” The purpose of the connection is straightforward: let customers purchase metals directly through our Shopify checkout while the external platform handles live pricing, order execution, and post-sale inventory updates.

Here’s what I need done:
• Set up a secure API bridge between Shopify and the Buying Commodity platform so product data, price feeds, and stock levels stay in sync in real time.
• Push each confirmed Shopify order to the app, retrieve the executed trade details, and display status updates back to the customer’s account page.
• Map SKU-level information so our metal variants (weight, purity, etc.) remain consistent across both systems.
• Provide a short hand-over document outlining any custom code, webhooks, and environment variables so we can maintain it in-house.

Acceptance criteria: the integration must process at least one test purchase end-to-end without manual intervention, update inventory correctly, and pass Shopify’s app validation checklist.
