About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain core backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript. You will work closely with our frontend team, manage database infrastructure, and integrate third-party services to deliver reliable, secure applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design backend architecture and develop and maintain APIs for core business systems using Node.js and TypeScript.
Design and optimize MySQL databases using Sequelize, including managing database migrations and improving query performance.
Integrate and maintain third-party services, including Auth0 for authentication, SendGrid for email, Twilio for SMS, and payment gateways.
Collaborate with the Vue.js frontend team on API integration to ensure accurate and secure data exchange.
Write clean, maintainable code, perform API testing with Postman, and troubleshoot technical issues.
Requirements
At least 3 years of professional Node.js development experience, with strong proficiency in TypeScript and Express.
Proficiency in Sequelize ORM, MySQL database design, and database migrations and seeders.
Familiarity with OAuth 2.0 and JWT authentication. Experience integrating Auth0 or similar identity platforms is a plus.
A solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
Strong communication skills, a high level of accountability, and the ability to collaborate effectively across time zones in a remote environment.
Ability to independently troubleshoot production issues, read English technical documentation, and integrate third-party SDKs.
Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese for day-to-day communication.
