We’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to help us improve and complete Aroma, an existing luxury perfume e-commerce platform.
Aroma already has a working React storefront and Express API, including a luxury-oriented landing experience, product catalog, filtering, product detail pages, shopping bag/cart functionality and basic user registration/login.
The current implementation is a demo/reference version rather than a production e-commerce system. The goal is to build on the existing foundation and turn it into a complete, polished, production-ready e-commerce platform without unnecessarily rebuilding functionality that already works well.
1. Existing Application Review
Start by reviewing the current application and customer flow to understand what is already working, what needs improvement and what should be preserved.
We value good product judgment and visual quality and we want to avoid rebuilding existing functionality unnecessarily.
2. Development Based on the Findings
Depending on the review, the project may include:
- Frontend improvements and new e-commerce functionality
- Cart and shopping-bag improvements
- Authentication and user accounts
- Persistent database implementation
- Checkout flow
- Payment integration
- Order creation and management
- Order history and customer account features
- Frontend/backend API integration
- Backend validation and error handling
- Security hardening
- Performance optimization
- Automated testing
- Deployment and production readiness
Current Technology
- Frontend: React / Create React App / JavaScript
- Backend: Node.js / Express / REST API
- Current product data: JSON-based catalog
- Current users: Local JSON storage for demo purposes
- Current cart: Session-based cart using HTTP-only cookies
- Architecture: Separate React frontend + Express API
The repository already contains the core storefront and API structure, so you should be comfortable working with and extending an existing codebase rather than treating this as a greenfield project.
We’re looking for someone who can work independently across frontend, backend, database, e-commerce functionality and production engineering, while making thoughtful technical and product decisions.
This is intended as a long-term collaboration, with the initial focus on understanding the existing implementation, establishing priorities and then completing the platform for production.
