Secure MySQL Database Design

I’m building a cyber-security-focused solution and need a purpose-built MySQL relational database designed from scratch. The goal is a schema that cleanly stores vulnerability reports, asset inventories, user activity logs and incident-response data while meeting strong security standards.

Here’s what I need from you:
• Translate my functional notes into an ER diagram, fully normalised.
• Produce MySQL 8-ready DDL and DML scripts, clearly commented.
• Define granular roles and GRANT/REVOKE statements so privileges align with the principle of least privilege.
• Incorporate parameterised stored procedures and views that mitigate SQL injection.
• Recommend column-level encryption for sensitive fields and outline safe backup and recovery practices.

Acceptance criteria:
• The schema passes mysqlcheck with no integrity errors.
• All PK/FK relationships enforce referential integrity.
• A supplied test script shows privilege boundaries preventing unauthorised queries.

Deliverables: ER diagram (PDF/PNG), complete SQL scripts, role-privilege script, and a concise hardening guide.
