Secure Email Authentication Development

I need a solid, production-ready email-and-password sign-in flow added to our React + Node.js product. The work covers both sides of the stack: a simple, responsive login/register interface in React/TypeScript and the matching REST endpoints in Node.js. All credentials must move over HTTPS, be stored with strong hashing (bcrypt or Argon2), and every login attempt must trigger a CAPTCHA challenge to deter bots and credential-stuffing attacks.

• Deliverables
– React pages for sign-up, sign-in, password reset
– Express/Node routes wired to a SQL or NoSQL store (your recommendation)
– CAPTCHA integration on the server side, including token verification
– Unit/integration tests and concise setup docs

I’ll review by spinning up the repo, running the automated tests, and confirming I can create an account, log in, and hit account lockout when the CAPTCHA fails repeatedly.

You’ll collaborate with our designer and another backend engineer through GitHub pull requests and Slack. Modern JS/TS, React, Node.js, and database experience are essential; familiarity with OAuth or 2FA is a plus for future phases.
