Who We’re Looking For
We want someone who can help us build the sales motion, not just follow one.
You’ll be responsible for helping us figure out how we consistently turn prospects into customers, from the first cold touch all the way through closing.
Your role will involve:
Outbound prospecting
SMS outreach
Cold calling
DMs
Email
Following up with inbound leads
Running discovery
Product demos
Objection handling
Closing
We’re currently hiring and building out our marketing team as well, so you should eventually have a mixture of outbound opportunities and inbound leads to work.
There isn’t a giant sales playbook waiting for you. We want someone who can help us figure out what the playbook should be, test it, improve it, and eventually make it repeatable.
What is Decked?
Decked is a B2B pre-construction sales platform built for contractors and home improvement companies.
Contractors spend a lot of time talking to leads who are unclear about what they want, what they can afford, or whether they’re actually ready to move forward.
Decked helps handle that work before the contractor gets involved.
We turn a homeowner’s initial interest into a structured, qualified project opportunity so the contractor can walk into the conversation already knowing more about the customer, the project, and what they want.
Think of Decked as sending a scout before the contractor walks into the first meeting.

The Numbers
Our initial target market is contractors and home improvement businesses.
We’re thinking somewhere around:
50 to 100+ targeted prospects per day
250 to 500+ prospects per week
Multiple touches across SMS, calls, email, and DMs
Consistent follow-up until prospects either convert or clearly disqualify themselves
These numbers aren’t set in stone. If you’re experienced in outbound and think we should be doing something differently, I want to hear it.
Ultimately, I care more about qualified conversations, demos, and customers than vanity activity metrics.
If You Want to Stand Out
I’ll look over everyone who applies, so you do NOT have to do this. But if you really want to stand out, take a look at Decked, understand what we’re selling, and show me how you’d actually sell it.
Send me:
One SMS script, DM script, OR cold call script you would actually use
The activity numbers you’d aim for daily/weekly
What you’d expect for conversations, demos booked, show rate, close rate, and customers
Who you’d target first and who inside those companies you’d contact
How you’d approach your first 30 days
How you’d move someone from a cold prospect to a conversation, then to a demo, and eventually to a customer
And most importantly, critique the offer.
If you look at Decked and think, “I could sell this, but it would be much easier if you changed X,” tell me.
That could be pricing, packaging, free trials, guarantees, demos, bonuses, risk reversal, positioning, urgency, or something I haven’t thought about.
I don’t want someone who just agrees with everything. If something about Decked makes your job harder as a salesperson, I want you to tell me.
Compensation
The budget currently shown on this Upwork post is mainly there for show. Please don’t use it as an indication of what the final compensation will be.
We’ll talk about compensation and commission structure later with the right candidates.
I’m open to building a structure that makes sense for both sides, especially if you’re confident you can produce revenue.
If you already have thoughts on what a fair structure would look like for an early-stage SDR/closer role, I’m open to hearing them.
Who Will Probably Do Well Here
Experience selling any of these would definitely help:
B2B SaaS
Construction technology
Contractor/home-service software
SMB software
Marketing or lead-generation services
Products requiring cold outbound, demos, and closing
But experience alone isn’t what I’m looking for.
